The only times I remember ever really introducing myself was at school, and at job interviews. In school, I’d give the basic Information, name, age, hobbies. What I found interesting is that when students introduce themselves in school, the first person to do so, sets the format for the class to follow.
In a job interview however, you have to sell yourself, go beyond your name and age and delve into work experience, skills, and those are pretty much the requirements to even be considered. You have to exhaust your mental library for words of skills you don’t really have. From my point of view all these introductions are often conducted in vain. Mainly because words are eloquent, but proving those words in the workplace or in a classroom require action. Who you say you are, and how you act are two different things.
With that said, I’m going to introduce myself to you, but I’m not going to tell you my name, or age or anything like that, however at the start of this year I am not who I was at the end of last year. Being jobless, and in turn succumbing to depression was where I found myself last year. What I feel now is acceptance and gratitude for the simple things in my life. My situation hasn’t changed, but my attitude has. My main purpose of this blog now is to no longer reblog random pictures that spark interest, but to spark interest in the literature of life. We all have a story to tell, and mine is to retell it as it unfolds before me. in more ancient times stories were used to teach wisdom and morals. I do not claim that my story will contain any wisdom, or teach you any morals, I don’t even think it can be entertaining but alas, here we are. I’m not going to tell you my name, but join me at the edges of human perception, a journey for open minds.
